Hi! Hej! 你好!こんにちは!

Welcome to my blog! Here is where I share bytes of myself. Have some virtual coffee ☕️!

This page will always be working in progress... Stay tuned!

Freelance SRE & photographer. Computer Science graduate, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Enjoy traveling and snow days. Self-identified as a cat.

This blog is where I post my random observations; mixture of mundane and magical.

Infrastructure

Working hard to defend my infrastructure against the perpetual chaos introduced in the production environment.

I host a number of interconnected servers, self-proclaimed as the Constellation Network, to serve as a personal production environment and rapid prototyping testbench. The infrastructure comes equipped with a basic prometheus observability stack.

My most often used Linux distros are Fedora and AlmaLinux.

This blog runs on Next.js, with the source code available at Nekoyue/Soda@GitHub. Articles get rendered from static Markdown files stored in a private GitLab server upstream. While web development isn't my usual domain, there's at least something mysterious enough to try out.

Gadgets

Devices I am using every day:

  • MacBook Pro 16' 2019 (last model of Intel-based MBP 16)
  • Windows 11 Workstation (Intel Alder Lake)
  • Mini PC (AMD Rembrandt, hso)
  • Ubiquiti UDM-Pro / U6-Pro, Aruba AP22 (cable management is fun)
  • Pixel 8 (Rose), iPhone 15 Plus (Blue)
  • iPad Air 4 (use occasionally)

Achievement unlocked: Type-C connectors on all the consumer electronics.

Pending: Going beyond the 10GbE home routing capacity (QSFP?).

Coding

Too many random projects. Legit multilingualism.

Had quite lot
fun `with Kotlin`() = this.also { causes(excessive = "syntactic sugar").intake!! }.
Sadly I haven't got many opportunities to use the language much lately.

Currently writing an esp32 firmware in Rust for my e-paper display weather station.

The Society & Culture

Travel

Google Maps & Flighty did a great job tracking where I have been since around 2018:

Flightly

Planning & Wishlist

  • China - Lhasa
  • Europe - Greenland
  • United States - Seattle & Boston
  • Canada - Revisit Montreal
  • Japan - Revisit Hokkaido

Media

I am periodically obsessed with anime. Peek all my watched shows on my AniList profile uwu.

My favorite music genres are J-Pop and Kawaii EDM. Find what I usually listen to from this Spotify playlist.

I'd love to hear if we share any interests or if you have any recommendations to me!
